User Guides for Yealink phones on SkySwitch

Answer a Call

  • Pick up handset

      -or-

  • Press Speaker button yealink-speaker.jpg

      -or-

  • Press Headset button yealink-headset.jpg  (if using a headset)


Call Pickup

Info
Call Pickup allows you to answer a call that is ringing at another extension.
*34Site Pickup - Answer a Call that is ringing within the same site
*35+extExtension Pickup - Answer a Call that is ringing at another extension
*36System Pickup - Answer a Call that is ringing within the same phone system
*37Department Pickup - Answer a Call that is ringing within the same department (if applicable)


Make a Call

  • Pick up handset

      -or-

  • Press Speaker button yealink-speaker.jpg

      -or-

  • Press Headset button yealink-headset.jpg  (if using a headset)
  • Dial either an Extension number or Telephone Number (no need for preceding “9”)
  • Press Send Softkey


Intercom Calling

Info
An Intercom Call can be made to an extension. This will cause the phone to ring once and then automatically go into Speakerphone mode
  • Press "X" + Extension Number
    • or Dial *50 + Extension Number
  • Press Send Softkey


Ignore Incoming Call

Info
Silence a call to stop your phone from ringing. Even though the call is ignored, your phone will still display the incoming call notification so you can still answer the call.
  • While phone is ringing, press Silence softkey
  • The Incoming Call window disappears and your phone stops ringing


Reject Incoming Call

Info
Reject a call to stop your phone from ringing and send the call directly to voice mail. Calls you reject display in your Recent Calls list. Rejecting calls is not available for shared lines.
  • While phone is ringing, press Reject Softkey
  • The call goes directly to voice mail.


Mute

  • Pressing the Mute yealink-mute.png button while on a call will mute the microphone.
  • Press again to unmute


Volume

Use yealink-volume.jpg at the bottom of the phone:

  • While phone is idle
    • Adjusts Ring Volume
  • While on handset/speaker/headset
    • Adjusts call volume


Transfer

Blind Transfer

While on a call:

  • Press Transfer Key yealink-transfer.jpg or Transfer Softkey. The call is placed on hold
  • Dial the other party (extension or outside phone number)
  • Press Transfer again.

Attended Transfer

While on a call:

  • Press Transfer Key yealink-transfer.jpg or Transfer Softkey. The call is placed on hold.
  • Dial the other party (extension or outside phone number) and then press yealink-pound.jpg
  • After hearing ring back tone or talking to other party, press Transfer again

Transfer Direct to Voicemail

While on a call:

  • Press Transfer key yealink-transfer.jpg or Transfer Softkey. The call is placed on hold.
  • Dial 7+ Extension Number
  • Press Transfer again.

Transfer using BLF/Speed Dial Key

While on a call:

  • Press the desired BLF/Speed Dial Key.
  • You will be prompted to make a choice:
    1. New Call (places call while putting Caller on Hold)
    2. Attended Transfer
    3. B. Transfer
  • Either press the appropriate digit in the dialpad or use the cursor to make your selection.

 


Hold

Info
Hold is used when you expect to retrieve the call from the same phone

While on a call:

  • Press Hold yealink-hold.jpg Key or Hold Softkey

To retrieve call, press blinking red line key



Park

Info
Park can be thought of as a “System-Wide Hold”. It is used to place a call on hold and then retrieve it from any phone on the system.

Place a Call Into Park

While on a call:

  • Press available Park button
  • Call will be released from phone and Park button will light red on all phones

Retrieve Call From Park

  • Press blinking Park button

NotesIf the Park button is not available, you can also dial the Park Extension to retrieve the call.



Paging

To Send a Page:

  • Press the PAGE softkey
  • From the Paging Group list, select the paging group to send the page to
    • 1 = Default
    • 24 = Priority (Active calls placed on Hold)
    • 25 = Emergency (DND Override, Active calls placed on Hold)
  • Press PAGING softkey
  • Pickup up the handset or talk immediately using speakerphone
  • Press END CALL softkey or hang up

Notes
To increase the volume of pages, press yealink-volume.jpg while a page is occurring.



3-Way Calling

  • During an active call, press the CONF softkey
  • Enter the number of the second party and press the Send softkey
  • Press the Conf softkey again when the second party answers
  • Press End Call to disconnect all parties

Notes
You can split the conference into two individual calls by pressing the Split softkey



Do Not Disturb

Info
When a Standard Extension’s phone is placed in Do Not Disturb, calls will be blocked on that phone and will instead follow the "If Busy" setting assigned to the Extension in the portal.

To toggle Do Not Disturb on and off:

  • Press DND softkey

Or

  • Press DND icon on Home screen

The DND icon yealink-dnd.jpg will appear on the status bar



Voicemail

There are three ways to log into a Voicemail Box from a phone:
  • Press the Envelope Screenshot 2025-04-16 123426.png button on your phone
    -or-
  • Dial 5001 from your phone
    -or-
  • Dial 5000 from any phone and then enter your Extension when asked for your User ID
